‘Manchester City President’ aims to strengthen the team quickly
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has vowed to strengthen his squad quickly. And hopes to have new players ready in time for the Club World Cup.

The revamped Club World Cup gets underway on June 15, with their first opponents being Al Wydad. The Club World
Cup is City’s last chance to secure silverware this season, having missed out on all but one trophy and finishing third in the Premier League.
They signed four players in January in a bid to address a mid-season dip in form, with Nico Gonzalez, Omar Marmouch, Abdoukodir Kusanov and Vitor Hess all joining.
City will continue their summer swoop this summer. With Al Mubarak hoping to get the deal done in time for the Club World Cup.
“We are very happy with the players we have brought in. We got four in January and that gives you a picture of what this summer will be like because we are going to continue this summer. Give the club what it needs,” Al Mubarak told ESPN.
“And I can tell you today that we have set our targets very clearly from day one of the new season. We have a clear number one option, a clear second option. We will start working on it and it will be very clear, very quick. Our objective is to try to have a new squad ready for the Club World Cup. “
Al Mubarak has been the club chairman since Sheikh Mansour took over in 2008. And has transformed City into one of the top teams, winning eight Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.
However, they have struggled last season, with Pep Guardiola’s side losing 16 games in all competitions, their worst losing streak ever.
Asked what he wanted to tell fans after a difficult season. Al Mubarak said the players are trying to get back to where they were next season.
“I think all the players, all the players I met after the Fulham game. They are excited, they are excited to come back. Nobody feels good about the season that has just ended. “
They want to come back, they want to come back hungry. What I saw was hungry and these players wanted to come back for pre-season. Normally the players have had a break and are thinking about going on holiday. “
To be honest, every player I have spoken to, they said, ‘We will be back. We will be ready to come back in three weeks.'”
“For example, I spoke to Rodri, he was looking forward to playing, Erling didn’t want to go on holiday, he wanted to stay and train with the physios to prepare for the new season. That’s the attitude you want and that’s why you see me being so positive.”
